Colorado Springs-based 720MEDIA purchases downtown office space

Much like buying a home for the first time, purchasing office space is a true testament to success. Taa Dixon, founder of 720MEDIA, is getting ready for a new phase in her career.

In October the company purchased the property at 723 N. Weber Street. Just four years after starting her business, Dixon and 720MEDIA truly have a place that’s all their own. We’re very excited to have this growth opportunity, Dixon said. We’ll be in the heart of downtown.

Dixon, who has had an interest in business ownership since her days on the playground, said 720MEDIA is ready to expand. The company is a full-service digital design and marketing firm with a focus on online design. The client list includes small businesses, non-profit organizations and professional athletes. We often serve as the strategic marketing vision for our clients, she said.

Technology and creativity have gone hand in hand for Dixon, who started early by staging living room talk shows with her family. Dixon has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Colorado College, and while in school she launched three workshops for young people. At 19, Dixon created a video-making workshop for middle school and high school students. She later launched a public speaking workshop for teens and a golf leadership program for Colorado College students. I’ve always thought you’re never too young to give back, she said.

After college Dixon moved to Chicago to work in television production for about 18 months. Prior to that, she received a grant to write about African American women, also in the Windy City. Although technology and marketing receive a lot of Dixon’s attention, she also finds time to write. She is working on a book about intuition and leadership. Her other passions include golf, taking road trips and painting at her in-home studio. To stay connected to the community, Dixon works as a motivational speaker. I think it’s important for young leaders to be visible in the community, she said.

Dixon and the 720MEDIA team are in the process of moving, with much of the heavy lifting to be done the weekend of Dec. 11 and 12. The new offices will allow for plenty of growing room and will provide space for the company to expand to a core team of 20 people. Every year we’ve been in business our business has really grown, Dixon said. She compared the move to repotting a small plant in a large pot. There is a lot of potential for development.

720MEDIA recently completed work on Web site launches for the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado College Department of Residential Life, the New York chapter of the National Football League alumni and the 21st Services Squadron at Peterson Air Force Base.

Dixon and her staff can design a Web site from scratch or work with clients to incorporate their personal touches and suggestions. Either way, the end goal is always the same. Nothing beats helping a business achieve success, she said. We are able to connect creativity with technology every day and produce tangible results for people that impact their bottom line.

Taa Dixon’s Golf Vision

1 Jun

By Mary Ellen Davis, Springs Magazine

Taa Dixon believes in the power of golf. One might say that she is on a golf mission. She sees the game as providing entrée, and she thinks women and minorities in business need to start playing, right now. “I think that golf is a positive force on many levels. It’s a game where integrity and character matter. It’s also a great way to break into new business circles and sharpen your negotiation skills.”

Dixon, the talented CEO of 720MEDIA, an e-commerce company in Colorado Springs, combines her love of golf and interactive technology in the website the company created for the only Native American on the PGA Tour, 97th-ranked Notah Begay III.

Dixon is busy building the ranks of new golfers. This summer 720MEDIA will co-sponsor a golf leadership program designed to introduce the game to new players in the local business community.
