Moms Search Behavior Online

It’s a well-known fact that women are the driving force behind 80 – 90% of most consumer purchases. From setting up new bank accounts, to booking vacations and buying homes, women constitute the power behind most purchasing decisions. As an online marketing consultant, I wanted to dive deeper and find out the patterns and behaviors of moms searching online. By understanding this powerful group of people, we can tap into the growing potential of moms and women online. What is your business doing to actively communicate with and target this active audience? Not convinced?

Consider these facts…the following study researched 1,000 mothers and found that:

  • 89% use the Internet at least twice/day
  • 90% have been using it for more than seven years
  • 86% said search engines are the most efficient way to find information
  • 70% use search engines to gather information before making any online purchase
  • 57% use search engines to gather information before making any offline purchase
  • 64% use search engines to find out where to purchase products offline
  • 64% use a search engine to gather more information after seeing an advertisement
